OPERATIONS
Remote: (almost anywhere)
$25k - $65k USD (paid in local currency)
Why We Need [You]
As a seed-stage startup poised for growth, we have a lot of momentum – we’re building systems, creating functions, implementing new tools. The time has come for us to find an Office Manager who can help us make sure our operations run smoothly. This role will encompass a range of administrative and sales-related tasks across the business. This is a perfect opportunity for an early-in-career individual who wants to break into the tech world, or a career-changer who has experience in a related field that could help the business grow.
Why this role is a sweet gig
This is a “front row” role – you’ll see a sales process up-close, how founders lead calls with customers, when teams expand and why, and get comfortable with finance functions – all skills that will leapfrog your career several levels in a short period of time.
This role is remote – that means high autonomy for you, and a degree of flexibility in your workday.
Potential to grow – if you take a shine to a specific function or area, as we mature you have the chance to take on more responsibilities and specialize.
What’s Workbrew?
At Workbrew we are building the features that companies need on top of Homebrew, the most popular package manager on macOS (and growing on Linux). Workbrew provides commercial support and MDM integration and will in future provide many other features around Homebrew needed by the enterprise.
Working at Workbrew
Our approach: At Workbrew we work hard but (usually) not long. We value getting things done quickly so we can spend time with our friends, family and pursue our hobbies. We know that “time spent working” is an exceptionally poor metric for output, happiness or success. You can read more about our philosophy and values here.
Workbrew is a remote-first company: Our team is spread across North America, Europe, and Asia, and the cofounders have been working remotely for a total of 30 years. There is no “HQ” and we have no plans to open one. When a meeting can instead be a document, pull request or a Slack message: it is. That does not mean we expect you to be “always on” – one of our values is “balance” and we mean it.
Expectations for travel: In our experience, humans like meeting other humans in person. It helps us bond and work better together. If you’re employed full-time here: you should be prepared to meet some other Workbrew co-workers in person at least twice a year.
Requirements
Exceptional organizational and communication skills and ability to problem-solve
Ability to multitask and take ownership over multiple projects, and navigate an ever-changing environment
Desire and sensibility to help drive the culture in a fast-paced startup environment
Familiarity with the software stack of a remote company: Slack, Google Suite, etc.
Several hours of overlap between EU CET and US EST time zones.
Nice to Haves:
Previous experience as a front office manager or operations coordinator

Benefits
The starting pay for this role is between $25k - 65k USD (paid in your local currency, through Deel, if outside the US).
If employed full-time:
A generous equity package
We provide flexible paid leave. Everyone is expected to take at least 20 days off a year (or your country’s legal minimum). 40 paid vacation days off a year is too many.

You can do your work from different places around the world (as long as you get your job done and show up for meetings at the right times).
If there’s something else you really want that we’ve not mentioned: please ask. We’re a small, early-stage company so are willing to be flexible and work with you to hire exceptional people like you.
